About the position

The Global Banking & Markets - Operations - Equities Execution Services - Analyst role is pivotal in providing exceptional post-trade client service to our institutional client base, particularly focusing on servicing the capital needs of some of the world's largest global hedge funds. This position is situated within a dynamic and multi-faceted division that collaborates with various parts of the firm to deliver comprehensive banking, sales, trading, and asset management capabilities to clients globally. The Operations team plays a crucial role in risk management and control, ensuring the preservation and enhancement of the firm's assets and reputation. Every trade, new product launch, or market entry is supported by Operations, which develops the necessary processes and controls to facilitate smooth business operations. In this role, you will be responsible for booking and settling trades, ensuring the accuracy of books and records for Equities clients. Success in this position is derived from a combination of process efficiency and strict adherence to controls and risk management principles. You will work directly with clients and external brokers to settle trades and resolve any trade-related issues, developing strong relationships with your assigned clients or market. Your investigative skills will be essential in addressing client queries and finding solutions to daily challenges. Additionally, you will analyze and improve processes to reduce risk and eliminate repetitive efforts, ultimately influencing client behavior to achieve superior operational and client service outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent post-trade client service to institutional clients.
  • Work directly with clients and external brokers to settle trades and resolve trade-related issues.
  • Manage a book of clients or market, developing relationships and providing top-notch service across the trade life cycle.
  • Investigate exceptions in internal books and records to identify resolutions and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Analyze and improve processes and procedures to reduce risk and eliminate repetitive efforts.
  • Influence client behavior to achieve superior operational and client service outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Comfortable presenting complex information in a structured and concise manner.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple processing deadlines.
  • Razor-sharp attention to detail and prudent risk aversion.
  • Constant drive to implement process improvements and challenge inefficiencies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team.
  • Ability to manage smaller projects and initiatives, influence others, and implement change in a consensus-driven environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, specifically with pivot tables, lookup functions, and general data analysis.
  • Experience with VBA coding and Excel/Outlook macros.
