About the position

The Global Brand Strategy & Marketing Integration Manager is a pivotal role within General Motors, responsible for enhancing the brand's positioning and overall market presence across GM's global markets. This position is designed to drive core results by fostering collaboration and ensuring consistency in brand strategy across various regions. The successful candidate will act as the primary point of contact and central hub for brand strategy, content, and product roadmap, representing a global perspective on strategic initiatives, tactical plans, and creative requirements. In this role, the manager will work closely with cross-functional marketing teams to ensure a cohesive execution of the global brand vision. This includes leading a cross-functional team in the development and maintenance of the Global Vehicle Positioning and Global Product Roadmap. The manager will identify strategic opportunities to position the brand as a global Tier 1 leader, contributing to the company's EBIT and market share goals while safeguarding brand standards. The responsibilities also encompass facilitating the annual roll-up of individual country and regional marketing plans into a broader global marketing strategy, monitoring and evaluating KPIs, and leveraging data-driven insights to optimize marketing strategies. The manager will support the integration and rollout of go-to-market plans for global markets, coordinate global input into key brand moments, and manage the integrated global market process, ensuring effective collaboration with agency partners. Regular communication with international market representatives will be essential, as will the coordination with product marketing teams to develop necessary tools and materials. The role also involves recommending solutions to management on brand strategy and facilitating global best practice sharing sessions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead consistent global brand strategy across all markets that aligns with the overall business objectives and resonates with target audiences worldwide
  • Lead campaign team in planning, executing, and closing projects within budget, schedule, and scope
  • Strategic leader responsible for the development of multicultural strategies aligned with the brand's DEI goals and objectives
  • Facilitate and lead the annual roll-up of individual country/regional marketing plans into the broader global marketing plan
  • Monitor and evaluate KPIs and consumer sentiment across international markets, leveraging data-driven insights to optimize marketing strategies
  • Support integration and rollout of go-to-market plans for global markets
  • Lead a cross-functional team in the development and maintenance of Global Vehicle Positioning and Global Product Roadmap
  • Coordinate and integrate global input into key brand moments: global product reveals, launches, and brand campaigns and activations
  • Lead and manage the integrated global market process, leveraging agency partners as required
  • Facilitate information and assets and enable connection between global leadership with international markets as needed and appropriate
  • Carry out regular connects with international market representatives via videoconferences and in-person planning meetings for the executive brand team
  • Coordinate closely with counterparts on the product marketing team/channel leads to develop tools, materials, and playbooks as needed to drive efficiency and collaboration around the globe
  • Recommend and present solutions to management and other key stakeholders as requested on brand strategy and global topics
  • Facilitate global best practice sharing sessions quarterly and ad hoc global learning sessions
  • Orchestrate and manage onboarding of new markets to align with process, guidelines, and overall ways of working
  • Support and foster a culture of brand advocacy among international teams

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or related field
  • 7+ years of marketing experience required
  • Experience in a Global Marketing Org and/or experience working internationally
  • Preferred candidate has experience in global activations or has experience in multiple regions
  • Broad marketing skillset and ability to effectively collaborate across functions
  • Experience leading a team and influencing a cross-functional team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Significant cultural sensitivity and diplomatic ability; willingness to navigate cultural differences and time zones
  • Ability to be a self-starter, take initiative and ask the right questions when needed
