About the position

As a senior member of the Global Communications team at Boston Consulting Group (BCG), you will play a pivotal role in shaping and driving the strategy for the Global Communications team. Working closely with the Chief Communications Officer (CCO), you will be responsible for key initiatives, decision-making processes, and governance, while managing the interface with the Operating Committee (OC) and Executive Committee (EC). Your role will also involve addressing reputation risk and strategy deliverables, ensuring that BCG's communications align with its overall strategic objectives. In this position, you will engage directly with BCG's senior leaders and the Communications Leadership team, collaborating with the Marketing & Communications (M&C) transformation office to drive strategic initiatives and transform the operating model. You will report on achievements and functional updates to BCG Leadership, acting as a critical thought partner to the CCO, Communications Global Chair, and the Global Marketing & Communications Leadership Team. Your responsibilities will include owning communications assignments to solidify strategy and frameworks, managing project deliverables, and crafting content for relevant materials and presentations. You will play a key role in executing a bold transformation agenda for BCG's global communications function, ensuring alignment with the overall BCG strategy. Additionally, you will provide strategic direction to key transformation initiatives, oversee the communication team's budget in collaboration with Finance Business partners, and ensure smooth day-to-day operations focused on service excellence and business acumen. You will also drive and set agendas for meetings within the Marketing function and with BCG senior leaders, while overseeing and managing members of the Communications Transformation team.

Responsibilities

  • Own communications assignments to cement strategy/frameworks, project manage deliverables, and write content for relevant materials/decks.
  • Play a key role in shaping and executing a bold and strategic transformation agenda for BCG's global communications function in line with the overall BCG strategy.
  • Be a valued strategic thought partner to the Communications Leadership Team.
  • Drive the continuous improvement and integration of our functional End-to-End operating model.
  • Provide strategic direction to key transformation initiatives to drive real change across our capabilities.
  • Work closely with our Finance Business partners to oversee the communication team's budget.
  • Ensure a smooth, day-to-day operation focused on service excellence and business acumen.
  • Drive and set agendas for meetings within the Marketing function pertaining to the communications team and with BCG senior leaders.
  • Oversee and manage members of the Communications Transformation team.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of implementing and managing processes in complex organizations.
  • Experience working successfully within a complex matrix structured organization.
  • Proven ability to work with senior Managing Directors and Partners (MDPs) in client-facing and internal settings.
  • Extensive Marketing expertise is highly valued.
  • Experience of working on political agendas and communications preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a business-related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in management consulting or a similar field, with BCG consulting experience strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a project leader role in a top-tier management consulting firm, with BCG consulting experience strongly preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working on political agendas and communications preferred.
