About the position

Tomorrow.io is seeking a highly motivated Global Controller to lead the Accounting team in a fast-paced startup environment. This role is pivotal in managing the company's financial operations, ensuring compliance, and providing critical financial data to support business decisions across all departments. The Global Controller will oversee the monthly financial close process, lead audits, manage payroll systems, and collaborate with various teams to enhance financial reporting and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Accounting team's roles and responsibilities, review the team's work, and establish growth plans.
  • Own the monthly financial close process and handoff to FP&A, establishing best practices for monthly entries and tasks.
  • Lead annual audit, income tax, insurance, and 401(k) workstreams.
  • Manage the Company's stock option database, including compliance filings and accounting reports.
  • Oversee US payroll systems and processes.
  • Work closely with the government project management team to provide necessary reporting and analytics for government customers.
  • Oversee foreign entities compliance requirements and reporting.
  • Collaborate with the Director of FP&A for monthly reporting best practices and other ad hoc forecasting needs.
  • Manage Company's accounting policies and evaluate for process and system improvements.
  • Lead NetSuite software modules and upgrades, owning the relationship with consultants.
  • Perform ad hoc finance projects at the direction of the CFO.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Accounting.
  • Minimum 5 years work experience in a SaaS-related industry and/or public company.
  • NetSuite or other ERP experience required; preferably experience implementing software tools.
  • Demonstrated success collaborating with varied teams, ideally with international experience.
  • Advanced quantitative skills with a passion for using data to drive better decision-making.
  • Public Accounting experience preferred.

Nice-to-haves
