ABOUT THE COMPANY DuBois Chemicals (DuBois) is a leading private equity-owned, specialty chemical company with a strong global presence. With a history of significant organic growth and M&A, DuBois is seeking an experienced and dynamic Global Controller to join the financial leadership team. This role is pivotal in driving financial processes, ensuring compliance, and supporting their global operations. Superior accounting acumen, M&A expertise, leadership skills, and impactful communications are critical skill sets. Leading a team of 30 with 6 direct reports, the Global Controller will partner with the CFO, the management team and operating leaders in managing the company's ongoing evolution and growth. In addition to direct reports, this role will partner with Regional Controllers from Mexico, Europe, Asia & Australia to ensure the accurate and timely consolidation of the global results for the business. Areas of responsibility include accounting (US & Canada), A/R, A/P, local tax, and global consolidations. This position is in Sharonville, OH and onsite 4-5 days/week.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage global accounting processes, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and procedures to support the company's growth objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards, including US GAAP.
  • Oversee the preparation and consolidation of financial statements, reports, and analyses for executive management and external lenders.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
  • Monitor and manage financial risks, including currency exchange, interest rates, and credit exposure.
  • Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • Drive initiatives to improve financial processes, systems, and reporting capabilities.
  • Provide financial due diligence and integration support for mergers and acquisitions.
  • Oversee the primary financial system (Microsoft Dynamics 365) and all financial systems.
  • Hire, train, develop and retain top accounting and finance talent.
  • Manage treasury responsibilities ensuring cash controls are followed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • CPA or CMA required, and public accounting experience preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible experience (manufacturing industry experience preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience successfully leading and managing global finance teams with the ability to develop and motivate financial teams that achieve superior levels of performance.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting principles.
