About the position

The Global Demand Planner is a pivotal role within the S&OP team of the Supply Chain department at Markem-Imaje, responsible for forecasting demand volumes for Consumables related to in-house manufactured products. This position plays a crucial role in the global supply chain planning process, as the demand forecast serves as the central driver for procurement of material components and the planning of production across various plants worldwide. The planner will utilize SAP to maintain and generate demand forecasts, ensuring that the forecasts are relevant and accurate through detailed analysis and collaboration with multiple manufacturing sites, including those in Keene (US), Shanghai, and Valence (France). In addition to maintaining demand forecasts, the Global Demand Planner will manage the master data within SAP, defining and updating the necessary parameters that dictate how forecasts are generated based on the products and supply chain structure. This includes updating forecast profiles and ensuring that the planning system reflects the current operational needs. The role also encompasses managing forecasting aspects of New Product Introductions (NPI) and phase-outs, requiring close collaboration with Product Divisions and Sales departments to ensure that the forecasts are accurate and up-to-date. As the role develops over the first 6 to 12 months, the planner will work on creating a link between forecasts at the supply base and sales in geographical zones, facilitating a more integrated demand planning process. This will involve developing forecasts for third-party supplied product lines to enhance visibility for procurement.
