About the position

At Legrand, we are excited to offer an opportunity for a Global Demand Planning Manager to join our Data Center Power & Control Team in Reno, NV. This pivotal role is responsible for leading and managing Demand Planning functions across Power, Access, and Control (PAC) within the Data, Power and Control Sector (DPC). The ideal candidate will be a strong leader capable of navigating a matrix organization, developing a Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) strategy that aligns with business needs, and implementing inventory strategies that support growth while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory (E&O). This position also plays a crucial role in driving Legrand's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) goals, ensuring that these priorities are integrated into our supply chain processes. The Global Demand Planning Manager will utilize our ERP system (SAP) and CRM (Salesforce) to maintain effective levels of finished goods inventory, ensuring that customer orders and business needs are met. This includes monitoring production commitments, maintaining commitment dates in our ERP and CRM systems, and acting as a watchdog to ensure customer commitments are fulfilled. The role requires the development of tools and aids to provide day-to-day visibility on commitment status and to ensure the effective flow of finished goods to meet customer orders and business requirements. The position reports directly to the DPC Sr. Director of Demand Planning.

Responsibilities

  • Drive a robust global S&OP process across the PAC business.
  • Lead standardization of inventory positions within the S&OP process to facilitate supply decisions.
  • Develop, refine, and maintain accurate demand forecasts for products using historical data and market trends.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather insights for improving forecast accuracy.
  • Optimize global inventory levels to ensure product availability while minimizing carrying costs.
  • Monitor and manage inventory turnover rates, identifying slow-moving or obsolete items and proposing solutions.
  • Work closely with Material Purchasing and Planning teams to align supply plans with demand forecasts.
  • Ensure production schedules and procurement activities meet demand requirements.
  • Utilize advanced analytical tools to assess historical data and generate forecasts.
  • Regularly analyze sales data and market trends to adjust forecasts as necessary.
  • Foster strong relationships and communication channels with sales, production control, and procurement teams.
  • Support functional leads and manufacturing leads in optimizing the Supply Chain to meet cost and service targets.
  • Facilitate cross-functional meetings to align on demand and supply plans.
  • Drive adherence to service metrics such as On Time Performance and Lead Time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in supply chain functions, preferably in planning/scheduling in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience as a demand planner or in a similar role within supply chain management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead transformational change with strategic and operational skills.
  • Experience in running end-to-end S&OP processes.
  • Essential knowledge of inventory management.
  • Understanding of demand planning within ERP systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • APICS Basic Certification or in progress of obtaining it.
  • Experience in a high volume, fast-paced SLA environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
