About the position

The Global Director for International Energy at GEODIS is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and business development efforts within the energy sector. This role involves identifying growth opportunities, managing client relationships, and ensuring the successful implementation of strategies in alignment with the company's objectives. The director will also play a key role in marketing initiatives and financial planning to enhance the company's market share and profitability.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and ensure the application of the strategy agreed with PL Head Office globally.
• Identify new opportunities and countries for future growth.
• Visit clients with local entities upon confirmation of agreed criteria.
• Develop opportunities from becoming an approved forwarder to handing over wins to implementation.
• Own and support RFI's and RFQ's, ensuring bids are completed.
• Support regional opportunities in line with rules of engagement.
• Take ownership of agreed clients and pipelines, ensuring timely updates.
• Research and distribute relevant literature for marketing needs.
• Define marketing needs such as brochures, flyers, and advertising.
• Organize internal and external meetings and propose new tailor-made products to increase market share.
• Elaborate and propose future budgets to HQ on commercial opportunities.
• Reach and exceed approved financial objectives and analyze results to troubleshoot problem areas.
• Investigate and advise on necessary investments in assets.
• Conduct weekly calls with SVP and utilize the CRM system to update and support the global pipeline.

Requirements

• Proven record of business development success, validated by experience listing.
• Deep knowledge of energy companies and market, validated by proven contacts.
• Must have 10 years of freight forwarding experience.
• Solid operational knowledge and ability to speak to the operations of the customer.
