About the position

The Global Director of Creative Visual Merchandising will lead the creative direction and execution of visual merchandising strategies for Kiehl's, a key brand within L'Oréal. This role focuses on developing innovative visual strategies across retail channels to enhance brand identity, engage customers, and drive sales. The Director will collaborate with various teams to ensure consistent representation of Kiehl's creative vision across all platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a global creative visual merchandising strategy for Kiehl's that aligns with the brand's identity and business goals.
  • Lead the design and execution of seasonal campaigns, window displays, product presentations, and in-store signage.
  • Oversee the creation and implementation of visual merchandising guidelines for consistency across all Kiehl's stores globally.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends in visual merchandising to bring fresh ideas to the Kiehl's brand.
  • Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and accountability within the visual merchandising team.
  • Provide strategic direction on store layouts, product displays, and visual storytelling elements.
  • Collaborate with marketing and product teams to align visual merchandising strategies with brand campaigns.
  • Partner with retail operations for visual merchandising rollouts, including new store openings and seasonal transitions.
  • Work with e-commerce and digital teams to maintain a cohesive visual identity across physical and online experiences.
  • Oversee planning and execution of visual merchandising projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to brand standards.
  • Manage design and production of in-store displays, coordinating with vendors for quality and cost-efficiency.
  • Conduct regular store visits and visual audits to ensure merchandising guidelines are followed and displays are effective.
  • Champion a customer-centric approach in visual merchandising efforts to enhance the customer journey.
  • Optimize store layouts for product discovery and purchase.
  • Utilize customer insights to refine visual merchandising strategies.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in creative visual merchandising, with at least 2 years in a leadership role in retail, fashion, beauty, or related industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Visual Merchandising, Design, Fine Art, or related field; advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
  • Strong design skills with a deep understanding of visual storytelling and retail aesthetics.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration and presentation.
  • Highly organized with project management expertise to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp) and understanding of retail fixture design.
