About the position

The Global Employee Relations Director at Guardant Health is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive employee relations strategy that aligns with the company's vision and global business objectives. This role involves overseeing the creation and implementation of guidelines, policies, and practices to foster a positive work environment, minimize risk, and ensure legal compliance across global operations. The position requires collaboration with various departments, including Human Resources, Legal, and Compliance, to address employee relations matters effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive employee relations strategy.
  • Oversee the creation and implementation of guidelines, policies, and practices for a positive work environment.
  • Partner with Legal and Compliance teams to ensure compliance with global labor laws.
  • Lead a global approach to employee relations matters to mitigate legal risk.
  • Develop and implement policies that promote positive employer-employee relationships.
  • Lead the resolution of complex employee relations issues, including investigations.
  • Provide education and guidance to HR Business Partners and management on employee relations matters.
  • Collaborate with Learning & Development to design training programs on employee relations topics.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the Employee Relations function.
  • Implement and maintain an employee relations case management system.
  • Track and analyze employee relations data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop proactive strategies to enhance employee engagement and retention.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, labor relations, business, law, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 12+ years of extensive experience in employee relations or labor law.
  • 5+ years of HR Business Partner experience preferred.
  • Proven record of conducting thorough investigations into employee complaints.
  • Broad knowledge of national & international labor standards.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proactive, strategic thinker with high integrity and professionalism.
