About the position

The Global Expert Discrete Manufacturing role at Roche involves leading innovation strategies in discrete manufacturing, particularly in sensors and semiconductors. The position focuses on developing knowledge and capabilities within the engineering function, fostering collaboration with external partners, and supporting the implementation of global expert panels. The role requires a strong emphasis on continuous improvement processes and the establishment of metrics to measure progress in capability development.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, cultivate, lead, and develop relevant knowledge and know-how within the engineering function.
  • Develop awareness and capability for new, innovative technologies in discrete manufacturing.
  • Contribute to the implementation of Global Expert panels and SME communities.
  • Support the development of the SME Network Operating Model.
  • Develop a continuous improvement process in coordination with capability development functions.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with universities and relevant institutions.
  • Lead future-guiding case studies and measure the achievement of innovation strategy.
  • Provide expert technical knowledge, consultancy, and leadership.
  • Contribute to building a framework for technical due diligence.
  • Expand methodologies used in technology assessments to meet Roche's goals.
  • Support the development and execution of Engineering & Technology vision and strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a science-related discipline.
  • 10-15 years of experience in the industry, preferably in semiconductor or Pharma/Diagnostics.
  • At least 5 years of project management experience.
  • More than 3 years of management/mentoring experience.
  • Advanced knowledge in facility design for semiconductor and sensor manufacturing.
  • Experience in technology transfer to cGMP manufacturing facilities.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in German is an advantage.
  • Ability to collaborate in a matrix organization and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Passion for innovation and sustainability.
