About the position

The Global Financial Crimes: Investigations Officer at Morgan Stanley plays a crucial role in identifying and investigating potential financial crimes, including money laundering and fraud. This position is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the firm's financial crime prevention efforts, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing guidance to the business on managing financial crime risks. The role requires strong investigative skills and the ability to produce detailed reports while collaborating with law enforcement and regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead investigations of suspected financial crimes, including money laundering, terrorist financing, and fraud.
• Determine appropriate regulatory filing requirements, including Suspicious Activity Reports.
• Provide advice to the business regarding financial crime risks in client relationships.
• Produce and maintain investigative reports and related documentation.
• Assist with requests for information from law enforcement and government agencies.
• Ensure daily operational processing meets established program and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent military experience.
• 5+ years of investigative experience with emphasis on BSA/AML.
• Strong understanding of financial markets and banking.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and presentation skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to make decisions in dynamic settings.
• CAMS or equivalent AML certification, or ability to obtain within 15 months.

Nice-to-haves

• Law degree or legal/prosecutorial experience.
• Broker-dealer product-based knowledge.
