About the position

As an Analyst in the Global Financial Crimes Division (GFCD) Sanctions Compliance Controls team at MUFG, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Bank's compliance program, particularly focusing on sanctions controls related to technology and list management. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about compliance and have a keen interest in foreign policy and international relations. You will be responsible for implementing the requirements of the Global Sanctions Standard and Procedures, specifically those related to the governance and management of sanctions screening lists across the Bank's global operations. Your role will involve working collaboratively with cross-functional teams in GFCD and Information Technology to ensure the effective and efficient operation of sanctions screening systems. You will assess the impact of regulatory or industry changes, such as ISO20022, on sanctions screening systems and coordinate the necessary upgrades to these systems. Additionally, you will oversee the sanctions tuning program, focusing on promoting efficiency and effectiveness in sanctions screening by utilizing tools and processes to mitigate false positives and optimize hit rates. You will also manage and enhance the watchlists used for sanctions screening, ensuring that applicable lists are uploaded completely and accurately to the sanctions screening applications. This includes reconciliation reporting and handling escalations. Supporting general compliance activities and other duties, including special projects, will also be part of your responsibilities. Responsibilities

Requirements
