About the position

The Global Head of Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) at Alcon is a strategic leadership role responsible for establishing and executing the HEOR strategy for the Global Ocular Health/Pharma franchise. This position plays a critical role in supporting market access and commercialization strategies by generating evidence to demonstrate the value of Alcon's pharmaceutical products. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams and external partners to influence strategic decisions and ensure the integration of HEOR in various franchise strategies.

Responsibilities

• Represent HEOR in all major strategic decisions at the portfolio level and support franchise strategies.
• Support the development of clinical, economic, and patient-centered value propositions.
• Influence global product strategies and relevant cross-functional teams.
• Oversee the development and implementation of Global HEOR strategies to optimize brand value and secure reimbursement.
• Collaborate with external research partners to ensure scientifically rigorous and relevant projects.
• Work with internal experts to develop field-based, customer-focused initiatives.
• Ensure timely integration of HEOR in franchise strategy and clinical development plans.
• Deliver HEOR product strategies within budget and resource constraints.
• Support reimbursement strategies and inform payer strategy through collaboration with local markets.
• Lead and coach cross-functional teams of HEOR associates and experts.
• Provide technical oversight and guidance to research support staff.
• Build research partnerships with academic institutions and stakeholders to optimize HEOR impact.
• Ensure clinical development programs include meaningful outcomes measures.
• Strategize global HTA access scenarios and integrate feedback into product strategies.
• Communicate HEOR strategies and findings effectively within Alcon and externally.

Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific or business discipline.
• Preferred Doctorate, Masters or equivalent in health economics, epidemiology, health services research, or biostatistics.
• Minimum 10-15 years of relevant experience in HEOR or clinical research.
• Experience in people management and cross-functional management.
• Pharmaceutical experience in HEOR or public health is preferred.
• Fluency in English; other languages are a plus.
