About the position

The Global Head of External CyberSecurity Engagement at State Street Corporation is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing cybersecurity risk management and client engagement across all global businesses. This position involves managing a team of cybersecurity experts to assess risks associated with third-party engagements and mergers and acquisitions, while also driving revenue retention and growth through effective client interactions. The role requires strategic thinking, excellent communication skills, and the ability to influence change within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide cybersecurity risk management and client engagement oversight globally.
  • Manage a team of cybersecurity experts focused on third-party engagements and M&A activity.
  • Drive revenue retention and growth through cybersecurity-related client interactions.
  • Partner with senior leaders to enable informed risk decisions.
  • Ensure cybersecurity practices are integrated into business unit management of third-party relationships.
  • Oversee and manage cybersecurity-related merger and acquisition risks.
  • Work closely with global cybersecurity to integrate newly acquired systems into existing operations.
  • Represent the Global Cyber Security organization to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of security threats and mitigations.
  • Establish relationships with business executives and various teams within the organization.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of progressive cybersecurity experience, with 6+ years in financial services.
  • 3+ years of operationally focused cybersecurity practitioner experience.
  • 5+ years of experience working with business leadership on enterprise projects.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to acquire and motivate top talent through networking and relationships.
  • Experience managing matrix team environments with direct and indirect reporting lines.
  • Demonstrated strategic and tactical thinking, decision-making skills, and business acumen.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Information Assurance, or a related technical field.
  • CISSP or CISM certification required; CRISC and/or CISA preferable.
