About the position

The Global Health Communications Manager at the Task Force for Global Health is responsible for leading and managing communication strategies that effectively disseminate information related to global health initiatives. This role involves developing comprehensive communication plans, overseeing content creation, and building relationships with stakeholders globally. The manager will support strategic approaches of the International Trachoma Initiative (ITI) and implement integrated communication strategies among targeted audiences, acting as a liaison to partner organization communications and advocacy teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the writing and development of key messages and content.
  • Create impactful and culturally sensitive content for various platforms, including communications to national programs, talking points, blog posts, press releases, articles, social media, and multimedia materials.
  • Interview staff and partners to develop stories and synthesize relevant information.
  • Write, design, and manage production of print and digital materials such as reports, guides, video scripts, presentations, one-pagers, FAQs, and infographics.
  • Develop clear key messages for a variety of target Global Health audiences.
  • Advise on, review, and edit communications materials and research articles drafted by colleagues and partners.
  • Facilitate knowledge management activities by curating updated content for the ITI website.
  • Oversee ITI website and Trachoma Atlas, updating content and managing web developers.
  • Contribute to ICTC-related communications and assist with grant management, including proposal writing and reporting.
  • Manage all aspects of communications functions including activity and work plans, databases, and content production systems.
  • Supervise and provide direction to interns and consultants.
  • Collaborate with internal communications groups across the Task Force and partner organizations on TFGH-led projects.
  • Maintain record-keeping and documentation, including ITI's photo library and materials.

Requirements

  • A master's degree in public health, and four years of experience in the development of marketing and informational materials, writing/research, project management and/or information technology, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Experience in global health or a related field is preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong project management skills and experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in digital communication tools, social media platforms, and content management systems.
  • Advanced slide deck/presentation development skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on technical writing, cross-cultural sensitivity, storytelling and/or advocacy.
  • Proven success in designing and creating effective communications products and website content.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
