About the position

The Global HR Onboarding Specialist at SBA Communications is responsible for overseeing the onboarding and retention programs for new hires, ensuring an effective and efficient service delivery. This role supports Talent Acquisition and continuous improvement initiatives, refining processes in response to business needs and HR trends. The specialist will engage with new hires, maintain documentation, and facilitate a positive onboarding experience.

Responsibilities

  • Administer the onboarding process.
  • Identify and engage passive candidates through various channels, including job boards and professional networks.
  • Schedule and coordinate interviews between candidates and hiring managers.
  • Utilize sourcing tools and techniques to build a robust talent pipeline for current and future hiring needs.
  • Collaborate closely with the Talent Acquisition team to execute consistent handoffs and deliver superior service to incoming new team members.
  • Serve as a key touch point with new hires throughout onboarding to maintain engagement, answer questions, and provide guidance and support.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key departments involved in the hiring process.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the employee experience approach and processes.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding Talent Acquisition and onboarding-related policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Maintain onboarding process documentation for all new hires.
  • Create welcome letters, welcome cards, and welcome kits for new hires and act as the point of contact for them.
  • Ensure all required documentation and new hire paperwork is complete, including Motor Vehicle Reports, Background Checks, and Drug and Alcohol Tests.
  • Perform I-9 verifications and run E-Verify for new team members, adhering to all Federal guidelines.
  • Facilitate orientation and provide assistance throughout the first day to foster a positive new hire experience.
  • Participate in and execute on candidate experience-related projects and initiatives.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive communications by text, email, and phone call with candidates, internal teams, and 3rd party vendors to ensure full execution and compliance within the onboarding process.
  • Partner with the Facilities department to ensure workstations are ready for new hires.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish required.
  • High School Diploma or GED, plus any related field of study preferred.
  • 3+ years of HR experience, preferably related to pre-employment or onboarding.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience in Workday or other Human Capital Management Systems preferred.
