About the position

The Global HSE Director for Life Science at CBRE is responsible for overseeing the health, safety, and environmental programs for clients. This role involves creating and implementing organizational programs and procedures to safeguard employees and surrounding communities, ensuring compliance with regulatory needs, and leading a team to drive program consistency and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Provide formal supervision to employees and monitor their training and development.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and coaching for staff.
  • Oversee the recruiting and hiring of new employees.
  • Coordinate and manage the team's daily activities, establishing work schedules and assigning tasks.
  • Set and track staff and department deadlines, mentoring and coaching as needed.
  • Approve all playbook and procedure changes to ensure consistency in Health, Safety, and Environmental initiatives.
  • Review operational and safety risks and execute strategic risk management strategies.
  • Act as the point of contact for government agencies and internal safety efforts.
  • Provide information to senior management about health, safety, and environmental issues and compliance.
  • Ensure all regulatory compliance needs are met across all accounts.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors consistent with CBRE RISE values.
  • Negotiate with external partners and vendors to reach common goals.
  • Identify and solve complex operational and organizational problems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 8-12 years of relevant experience, or a combination of experience and education.
  • Experience in staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, and performance management is preferred.
  • Ability to lead the exchange of sensitive and complicated information and handle problems effectively.
  • Leadership skills to set, manage, and achieve targets impacting multiple departments.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Expert organizational skills and an advanced inquisitive mindset.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in HSE within the Life Science sector is strongly preferred.
