About the position

The Global Investment Research team is dedicated to providing comprehensive insights and tools that shape investment strategies for clients and the firm. This position as an Equity Research Associate in the Semiconductors & Semiconductor Capital Equipment sector involves working closely with the Senior Analyst and other team members to build a robust understanding of the industry. The role requires a proactive approach to generating and executing investment ideas, which includes writing detailed reports and notes on companies that fall under the team's coverage. In this role, you will be expected to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including the equities sales force, traders, clients, and company management. A significant part of your responsibilities will involve interpreting data and performing thorough analyses on market trends, economic indicators, and technological advancements that impact the semiconductor sector. Additionally, you will be tasked with developing financial models that support investment decisions and strategies. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment, demonstrating a strong ability to take initiative and be resourceful. Multi-tasking and collaboration with various teams will be essential to succeed in this position, as you will be expected to juggle multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and insight in your analyses.

Responsibilities

  • Build strong industry knowledge of the Semiconductor & Semiconductor Capital Equipment sector
  • Contribute to the generation and execution of investment ideas
  • Write reports/notes on companies under coverage
  • Communicate with the equities sales force and traders, clients and company managements
  • Interpret data and perform analysis on market, economic and technology trends
  • Develop financial models

Requirements

  • Strong financial modeling and analysis experience
  • Working knowledge of accounting, finance, and valuation
  • Demonstrated interest in the technology sector
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
  • Comfortable taking initiative and being resourceful/entrepreneurial
  • Ability to multi-task and work with numerous teams

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics or similar
  • Experience in Semiconductor & Semiconductor Capital Equipment research or sell side research
