About the position

The Global Logistics Strategy & Governance Leader at Elanco is responsible for managing relationships with Global Freight Forwarder partners, optimizing costs and services within logistics networks, and developing processes for future logistics infrastructure. This role is pivotal in ensuring effective logistics operations that align with Elanco's business requirements and sustainability goals.

Responsibilities

• Manage and foster Global Freight Forwarder relationships through optimized cost and service solutions to meet Elanco's business requirements
• Measure 3PL operational effectiveness through development of a comprehensive set of KPIs, facilitation of Quarterly Business Reviews and implementation of continuous improvement programs
• Identify potential external events that could impede global material flows and develop contingency plans to reduce risks to the business
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to design and implement end-to-end logistics network solutions in support of mergers, acquisitions or other changes to Elanco's supply chain
• Support Inter-Company Transportation Teams through effective lane routing assignments and adjust as necessary due to equipment/space availability and service level deficiencies; key contributor to ocean, air and road RFI/RPI processes and lead the implementation of outcomes

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics and/or Industrial Engineering
• 10-15 years of international freight transportation and import/export experience with a global manufacturing organization and a Top 25 Global Freight Forwarder in account management and/or operations
• Pharma or Life Sciences experience and knowledge of GMP and Regulatory requirements
• Deep knowledge of supply chain physical and financial material flows

Nice-to-haves

• Strong knowledge of dynamic ocean/air markets and impact on pricing methodologies
• Possesses a strong knowledge of international shipping rules and regulations
