Vaccines are one of the greatest public health advancements of all time, resulting in the control, elimination, or near-elimination of numerous infectious diseases that were once pervasive and often fatal. Pfizer has a rich history in vaccine research and development and have designed novel vaccines based on new delivery systems and technologies that have resulted in vaccines that prevent bacterial, vector and viral borne diseases. Over the years, we've played a pivotal role in eliminating or nearly eliminating deadly infectious diseases like smallpox and polio globally. Today, Pfizer has an industry-leading portfolio of 19 approved vaccines and is committed to developing innovative solutions that prevent and treat disease, with special focus on maternal/neonatal and hospital-acquired infections (HAI). In a highly visible role, the Global Viral and Maternal Lead will lead the Global Medical Affairs Strategy Heads and the Global Medical Strategy Directors to establish and develop medical strategy at an asset or franchise and pathogen level, in close collaboration with senior Pfizer Vaccine R&D stakeholders. As a senior and respected subject matter expert in the clinical Vaccines community, the incumbent will drive Pfizer's presence and reputation within the Vaccines clinical community and be a 'go to' person for key opinion leaders (KOLs) across their pathogens. Build and develop a team of medical Vaccines experts that have strong knowledge in Vaccines, including the business environment, disease states, competitor data, asset data and synthesize into clear and effective medical strategy, enabling the effective pull through by the Medical Affairs local teams to unlock the full global potential of our existing and future commercially available medicines.
