About the position
The Derivatives Analyst role involves supporting operational activities related to derivatives trading within Fidelity's Global Middle Office. The position requires collaboration with team members to manage trade confirmations, lifecycle events, margin calls, and collateral transfers, while also serving as a primary contact for business partners. The role emphasizes attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to innovate operational processes to enhance efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Complete trade confirmations and execute lifecycle events associated with derivatives trading.
- Execute daily margin calls and confirm settlement of collateral.
- Analyze, research, and resolve margin call and collateral variances with broker-dealers and custodian banks.
- Provide reporting to key internal and external business partners.
- Recognize and escalate high-risk items to minimize potential losses.
- Assist in the development and review of departmental policies and procedures.
- Test and automate processes and workflows in a constantly evolving environment.
Requirements
- Four-year college degree in business or finance.
- 1-3 years of financial services work experience preferred.
- Experience in collateral management and/or middle office operations.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to multitask.
- Attention to detail in following procedures and controls.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a small team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel) and adaptability to different operating systems.
