About the position

The Global Payroll Specialist will oversee day-to-day payroll operations, support new and existing pay programs, and drive process improvements within the international payroll resources team. This role is crucial for managing payroll across multiple countries and ensuring compliance with payroll-related rules and laws. The Specialist will work closely with HR and Payroll professionals to support the organization's international expansion and maintain accurate payroll records.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate payroll processing for several countries including the UK, France, and the Netherlands.
  • Lead the maintenance of payroll information, including data collection, calculation, entry, and check distribution.
  • Partner with a global payroll provider to implement payroll setups for new countries.
  • Coordinate disbursements of funds for employees, benefit providers, taxes, and other payments with the finance team or payroll provider.
  • Follow up with Store Managers regarding incomplete or inaccurate payroll paperwork.
  • Process statutory payments for European countries.
  • Identify and implement payroll process improvements and best practices.
  • Monitor payroll-related transactions for compliance with policies and laws.
  • Reconcile errors and maintain payroll records, ensuring data integrity.
  • Drive resolution for technical or system payroll issues and work with IT to resolve errors.
  • Develop system reporting to provide timely data and analyses for business decisions.
  • Communicate payroll policies and procedures to district managers and department heads.
  • Resolve payroll inquiries and process adjustments as necessary.
  • Lead training for payroll staff.
  • Oversee partnerships that facilitate payroll processes, including garnishment administration and benefits administration.
  • Manage preparation of relevant payroll reports.

Requirements

  • 1+ year of payroll experience in France.
  • 3+ years of payroll experience with payroll and time and attendance systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and lookups.
  • 2+ years of international multi-country payroll experience.
  • Good understanding of basic accounting principles, including journal entries and reconciliations.
