About the position

The Global People Relations Manager at Heifer Project International is a pivotal role focused on enhancing employee relations practices and promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) within the organization. This position involves collaborating with senior leadership and various stakeholders to implement effective policies, manage employee relations cases, and support the organization's transformation towards being locally-led and globally-connected. The role emphasizes the importance of a positive organizational culture, employee engagement, and compliance with legal and internal policies.

Responsibilities

  • Support the promotion of a culture of respect that celebrates DEI&B.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to drive cultural transformation.
  • Keep track of DEIB priorities set by SMT and provide progress updates.
  • Influence employee engagement and ensure fair resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Maintain regular contact with global stakeholders and provide guidance on employee relations matters.
  • Drive organizational culture and values that support transformation towards Sustainable Locally Led Development.
  • Support the Global Talent Development Director in driving the Performance Management/Development System globally.
  • Plan and execute global Employee Relations strategies without direct supervision.
  • Oversee and support global internal communications for the People Department.
  • Collaborate with HR, Legal, and regional teams to ensure understanding of policies.
  • Initiate policy updates and communication strategies to enhance employee engagement.
  • Support regional and field offices in developing HR Manuals and policies.
  • Lead and conduct complex workplace reviews/investigations in collaboration with Risk Management & Assurance Unit and Legal.
  • Manage and update access to employee records.
  • Collaborate with regional teams to ensure HR compliance across the organization.
  • Monitor global HR compliance frameworks and ensure alignment with laws and policies.
  • Help design and roll out global engagement surveys and guide action plans.
  • Work with the Global HR Systems Coordinator to advance Data Protection within HR systems.
  • Advise and coach management on labor issues and employment-related risks.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in employee relations and human resources management.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience in driving DEIB initiatives and cultural transformation.
  • Knowledge of HR compliance frameworks and legal requirements.
