About the position

The Global Privacy Program Manager at Booking Holdings is responsible for leading and managing the Enterprise Privacy Program. This role involves collaborating with brand teams to enhance risk management, designing reporting frameworks for leadership, and ensuring alignment across departments to meet privacy goals. The manager will also oversee vendor management, budgeting, and support privacy awareness initiatives within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage BHI's Enterprise Privacy Program, partnering with brand functions to develop centralized risk management and identify new growth opportunities.
  • Design and implement an independent reporting framework to standardize outcomes for Audit Committee review.
  • Establish and operationalize a risk escalation governance mechanism, anticipating and communicating potential risks effectively.
  • Develop and refine standards, frameworks, and processes to support ongoing privacy risk management and drive program efficiency.
  • Partner closely with Security and Data Governance teams to align program priorities and improve reporting capabilities.
  • Lead privacy-focused training and awareness initiatives, such as Data Protection Week and Privacy offsites.
  • Oversee reporting operations for senior BHI leadership, Risk Committee, Board of Directors, and Audit Committee, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Manage external service providers and department budgets, including cross-brand charges.
  • Oversee and guide a direct report, and collaborate to promote team success.
  • Collaborate with Internal Audit to support enterprise-wide objectives.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in related fields is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in privacy and risk management.
  • Deep understanding of privacy frameworks, programmatic risk management, and relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven experience in designing and executing privacy and data protection programs that align with enterprise risk appetite and business goals.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex privacy concepts to stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership.
  • Skilled in creating and implementing privacy policies, standards, and frameworks that support a proactive risk management approach.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across departments, particularly with Security, Data Governance, and Internal Audit teams.
  • Highly organized, with a talent for managing multiple priorities and projects while meeting deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • CIPP, CIPT, CIPM, CISSP, or similar professional certification preferred.
