About the position

The Global Process Engineering Authority (GPEA) will collaborate with the Global Process Engineering Leader (GPEL) for the Gas Value Stream, focusing on fabrication, welding, and non-destructive testing technologies. This role is pivotal for factory process standardization, new product introductions, and strategic investments in processes and equipment. The GPEA will drive cost reduction through standardization and adherence to established processes while coaching a network of factory technical leads. The position emphasizes analytical skills and lean methodologies to enhance operational efficiency and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Define and control production processes including tooling and equipment.
  • Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new products, tools, or equipment.
  • Influence the development of strategy for the area of responsibility, including resource control and policy formulation.
  • Create and maintain manufacturing process standards for fabrication, welding, and non-destructive testing.
  • Generate qualification templates for new products and methods.
  • Ensure compliance with AWS, ASME, AS9100, ISO, and PWE code requirements.
  • Establish guidelines and maintain industry compliance for Materials Labs.
  • Manage global certification programs for welding and non-destructive testing training plans.
  • Interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, processes, or services.
  • Lead functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements and complexity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 7 years of industrial experience in broaching and grinding, or a high school diploma/GED with at least 9 years of industrial experience.
  • Experience in developing production processes, technology standards, and equipment selection.
  • Direct leadership experience of both professional and production employees.

Nice-to-haves

  • Functional expertise in fabrication, welding, and non-destructive testing manufacturing processes.
  • CWI Certified NDT Level II and Level III.
  • Experience in tooling, part fixturing, and CNC machine design.
  • Managed a cost center or P&L with a solid understanding of operational metrics.
