About the position

As a Global Product Developer for Women's MFV (Made For Value) at Liberated Brands, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the development and quality of assigned styles across multiple brands. This temporary position requires you to serve as the liaison between the Designer, Merchandiser, and Supplier, ensuring that all aspects of the product development calendar are managed effectively and that products are delivered on time. You will oversee the entire development cycle, starting from the initial concept through to production hand-off, ensuring that the execution aligns with design, allocation, sourcing, and brand strategy. Your responsibilities will include leading cross-functional communication and coordination regarding timing, calendar updates, product approvals, and any issues that may arise. You will work closely with sourcing team leads to source raw materials and components while maintaining quality standards and margin goals. Anticipating potential obstacles in the development process and facilitating effective resolutions will be key to your success in this role. Additionally, you will be responsible for monitoring and tracking samples, trims, fabric, print, and color development approvals, ensuring that all product information is accurate in the PLM system throughout the product lifecycle. Cost negotiations with suppliers to meet or exceed margin targets will also be part of your duties. Collaboration with the Compliance team will ensure that products meet Liberated Brands standards as well as global laws and standards, while working with the Production team will ensure that each style is appropriate for production lines. You will also prioritize and maintain the fit approval schedule in collaboration with Fit Tech and may be required to take seasonal development trips to suppliers internationally. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the development and quality of assigned styles across multiple brands.
  • Serve as the liaison between the Designer, Merchandiser, and Supplier.
  • Manage all aspects of the product development calendar and execution of the product.
  • Oversee the development cycle from initial concept through production hand-off.
  • Ensure development execution aligns with design, allocation, sourcing, and brand strategy.
  • Lead cross-functional communication and coordination of timing, calendar, product updates, approvals, and issues.
  • Work closely with sourcing team leads to source raw materials and components while maintaining quality standards and margin goals.
  • Anticipate and identify potential obstacles in the development process and facilitate effective resolution of issues.
  • Identify and maintain seasonal development metrics.
  • Monitor & track samples, trims, fabric, print, and color development approvals to/from Suppliers and internal communication.
  • Negotiate costs with suppliers to meet or exceed margin targets.
  • Ensure all product information is accurate in PLM system during the product lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with Compliance team to ensure products meet standards and global laws.
  • Work with Production team to ensure styles are production line appropriate.
  • Prioritize and maintain fit approval schedule with Fit Tech.
  • Take seasonal development trips to Suppliers (International).
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • At least 3+ years of experience in apparel product development.
  • Extensive attention to detail and follow-through related to calendar, vendor relations, and inner department relations.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Proactive and detail-oriented mindset, ensuring thoroughness and accuracy in all development-related activities.
  • Detailed knowledge of construction and textiles for apparel, especially women's apparel & swim is a plus.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Word and Excel is required.
  • Preferred intermediate knowledge of Illustrator 10, CS, CS2.
  • Experience with PLM, Full Circle is preferred but not required.
  • A bachelor's degree is preferable but not required.
