About the position

The Global Product Line Director is responsible for overseeing the Aerospace and Defense (A&D) Product Line's profit and loss (P&L), ensuring the achievement of gross and operating margin targets. This role involves supervising other Product Line Managers, developing marketing strategies, conducting market research, and collaborating with various departments to enhance product offerings and sales effectiveness. The position requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and effective communication skills to drive product lifecycle management and organizational efficiencies.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for A&D Product Line P&L and delivering gross and operating margin targets.
• Supervise other Connectors Product Line Managers by providing executive level guidance and coaching.
• Utilize pricing power framework to establish reference prices and volume pricing.
• Develop strategy and marketing plans for the product line.
• Conduct market, customer, competitor, and user research; analyze potential partner relationships.
• Ensure profit and loss for product lines and analyze sales for financial performance.
• Work with RD&T to define product release requirements and roadmap.
• Define product market communication objectives and go-to-market strategy with Marketing Communications.
• Maintain a comprehensive product offering presentation and contribute to business unit synergies.
• Provide sales team training and presentations.
• Specify market requirements for current and future products through market research.
• Actively manage product lifecycle from concept to end of life.
• Collaborate with Human Resources for staffing decisions and talent road mapping.
• Support organizational efficiencies and capabilities expansion with shared services.
• Assist with diligence and integration for partnerships, mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.

Requirements

• B.S. Degree in Engineering preferred.
• Experience managing P&L for a product line is vital.
• Aerospace and defense background is essential.
• Technical marketing background required.
• In-depth experience in the defense and aerospace industry as a product line manager in a senior role.
• Working knowledge of electrical systems and market curiosity.
• Project management skills are required.
• People management skills and experience are necessary.
• Experience with key customers in key market segments.
• Demonstrated skills in cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Engineering.
• Effective communication and business leadership skills.
• Strong strategic thinking and self-sufficiency as a team player.
• Highly organized and internally driven with strong decision-making skills.
• Ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships.
• Excellent listening, verbal, numerical, writing, and presentation skills.
