About the position

The Product Line Management (PLM) role at Gates Corporation is crucial for driving the company's growth by developing and implementing strategic plans for product lines. This position involves market analysis, product roadmaps, and collaboration with engineering and sales teams to ensure profitable growth and customer satisfaction. The role is based in Englewood and reports to the Global Product Line Director - Hydraulic Hose and Assemblies.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting P&L for the product line, including strategic planning and tactical management to achieve financial and other operating metrics.
  • Conducting voice-of-the-customer interviews and translating customer desires into actionable insights through customer visits, participation in industry associations, and competitive research.
  • Acting as overall project manager for the New Product Development (NPD) process, ensuring that feature, quality, and cost objectives are reached and that schedules are kept.
  • Preparing required Market Launch materials and documenting product specs, strategy, plans, and training needs.
  • Leading all aspects of the new product launch process and commercialization.
  • Maintaining current knowledge and expertise of product engineering technologies, new product designs, competitor capabilities and practices, market conditions, and market channels.
  • Developing and coordinating marketing communications materials for all sales channels, internal and external.
  • Continuously analyzing and interpreting customer questions, requirements, or problems.
  • Supporting the preparation of effective quotations, bids, and related negotiation documentation for the sales of products produced by the company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Business, or Marketing.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in product line management, marketing, outside field sales, application and/or product engineering, or business development.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence with and without authority.
  • High-level interpersonal and leadership skills; able to influence across multiple levels within the company and locations.
  • Strategic mindset and strong business acumen.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to change and drive change.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in at least 2 of the aforementioned roles (product line management, marketing, outside field sales, application and/or product engineering, or business development).
  • Global work experience and perspective is preferred.
  • Change management leadership capability.

Benefits

  • Salary Range: $118,000 - $135,000
  • Bonus Eligible
  • Medical, Dental, Vision insurance and other voluntary benefit options starting on the first day of the month following the date of hire.
  • Eligible for 3 weeks of paid vacation + 11 holidays (9 scheduled & 2 floating) + 8 sick days.
