About the position

The Global Product Manager for Upstream Marketing at Abbott is responsible for driving the success and growth of advanced vessel preparation products. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop new products and enhance existing ones, while providing technical expertise and market insights to inform business strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and interpret voice of customer (VOC) input and monitor competitive activity to define market requirements.
  • Monitor, analyze, and evaluate product performance, market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activity to identify new product opportunities.
  • Develop business cases for new opportunities, including market and customer needs, financial modeling, and data analysis.
  • Collaborate closely with R&D to translate customer requirements into innovations.
  • Work with clinical, regulatory, and other functions to inform the pipeline strategy.
  • Provide leadership by representing the customer with internal project teams and managing marketing aspects of projects.
  • Lead assigned programs as the product expert to downstream and commercial marketing teams and customers.
  • Partner with downstream and commercial teams to develop initial launch and communication plans.
  • Present and negotiate with cross-functional teams to execute global market strategies and actionable market plans.
  • Understand project timelines and make recommendations based on risk analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with at least 4-6 years related experience, or MBA with 1-3 years related experience.
  • At least one year of experience in marketing or product management.
  • Product management experience in medical products or services preferred.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Strategic planning and critical thinking abilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience conducting market research and obtaining VOC input.
  • Ability to translate customer requirements into new product specifications.
