About the position

The Global Product Manager - Upstream Marketing at Abbott is responsible for driving the success and growth of advanced vessel preparation products. This role involves representing Upstream Global Marketing on cross-functional teams, developing new products, enhancing existing product lines, and providing technical expertise to commercial teams. The position requires a strong focus on market research, customer needs, and collaboration with various departments to ensure effective product management and marketing strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and interpret voice of customer (VOC) input and monitor competitive activity to define market requirements.
  • Monitor, analyze, and evaluate product performance, market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activity to identify new product opportunities.
  • Develop business cases for new opportunities, including market and customer needs, financial modeling, and data analysis.
  • Collaborate closely with R&D to translate customer requirements into innovations.
  • Work with clinical, regulatory, and other functions to inform the pipeline strategy.
  • Provide leadership by representing the customer with internal project teams and managing marketing aspects of projects.
  • Lead assigned programs as the product expert to downstream and commercial marketing teams and customers.
  • Partner with downstream and commercial teams to develop initial launch and communication plans.
  • Present and negotiate with cross-functional teams to execute global market strategies and actionable market plans.
  • Understand project timelines and make recommendations based on risk analysis when projects are off course.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with at least 4-6 years related experience, with at least one year in marketing or product management, or MBA with 1-3 years related experience.
  • Product management experience in medical products or services preferred.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, strategic planning, critical thinking, and analysis of market conditions.
