About the position

The Global Product Manager for Automatic Tank Gauge at Vontier is responsible for overseeing development projects and managing IoT and software initiatives. This role involves driving the global portfolio strategy and go-to-market initiatives, focusing on building automation and creating a connected device ecosystem for monitoring and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • P&L responsibility for a globally leading software and hardware product portfolio
  • Drive new IoT and sensor technologies to expand key business areas
  • Create a network of connected devices, including sensors to a single edge device
  • Build automated systems to enhance business and operational efficiencies
  • Utilize AI tools to provide actionable insights
  • Act as the leading contributor with software engineering during the development process
  • Develop product strategy, roadmap, and actions to drive product line performance
  • Obtain a deep understanding of customer processes to identify opportunities for improvement using VOC methodology
  • Gather VOC and prioritize needs for product line, balancing user experience, price, and performance
  • Build business cases for new products and enhancements by understanding key drivers
  • Lead new product development including requirements, commercialization, and life-cycle management
  • Work closely with regional marketing and sales organizations to implement effective growth strategies
  • Establish product pricing and understand global competitiveness and price elasticity
  • Financial ownership and product ownership from order to cash.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with MS or MBA desired or equivalent work experience
  • At least 5 years of progressive product marketing, business, or technical management experience
  • Demonstrated experience bringing new products to market that deliver business impact
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in JIRA
  • Understanding of agile development processes and the role of a product manager
  • Experience as a product owner, including backlog grooming and roadmap building
  • Experience integrated in a software engineering project team as a vocal contributor
  • Basic understanding of cloud architecture, development, and QA standards
  • Basic understanding of web development
  • Experience building automation and connectivity with smart devices.
