About the position

The Global Product Support Engineer at ASM is responsible for providing system-level expertise and support for new product development, particularly in the area of ALD equipment. This role involves collaboration with various engineering teams to ensure that customer requirements are met during the design and testing phases of new products. The engineer will also oversee the first builds and tests of new products, manage customer shipments, and develop maintenance procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a system level expert focused on product support for new product development.
  • Interact with Hardware, Electrical, Controls, Process, and Software engineering teams to become the system level expert on new products being developed.
  • Provide guidance to engineering during the design phase of new products on key customer requirements and needs.
  • Own the first build and test of the new product in the development lab, providing real-time feedback and recommending solutions.
  • Develop procedures and document best known methods for service, preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
  • Manage First in Fab (Alpha or Beta) customer shipments and drive customer fab readiness, installation, and startup through production qualification.
  • Report detailed field issues for new products in the field.
  • Drive and own customer issues on new products during the Alpha build and test phase as well as during beta testing at customer sites.
  • Develop critical spares parts lists for new products and ensure initial stocking levels are set for new product shipments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of related experience with ALD equipment.
