About the position

The Global Program Manager at Amgen plays a crucial role in the Global Operations Planning & CMC Integration team, focusing on integrating Process Development activities for pipeline projects. This position is pivotal in supporting late-stage programs, ensuring alignment of project timelines with business priorities, and facilitating effective communication among cross-functional teams. The Project Manager will leverage their leadership skills to drive decision-making, manage project risks, and optimize project activities to enhance patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain project timelines for Amgen pipeline projects.
  • Support programs in the pivotal (late stage) phase by aligning plans and schedules with business priorities.
  • Capture project risks, develop mitigation plans, and communicate project status to impacted partners.
  • Assist in driving decision-making for projects using DAI principles (Decision maker, Advice Giver, Informed).
  • Establish and manage collaboration and team SharePoint sites.
  • Provide meeting management support including planning, scheduling, facilitation, and documentation.
  • Ensure product project reporting to Product Lifecycle Management (PLM).
  • Manage and prioritize support of multiple project teams simultaneously.
  • Facilitate incorporation of lessons learned and best practices into project processes.

Requirements

  • Doctorate Degree OR Master's Degree & 3 years of Project Management or Operations experience OR Bachelor's Degree & 5 years of Project Management or Operations experience OR Associate's degree & 10 years of Project Management or Operations experience OR High school diploma/GED & 12 years of Project Management or Operations experience.
  • Experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, or programs.

Nice-to-haves

  • 10+ years of experience in the Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology or other Healthcare-related field.
  • Direct CMC experience.
  • Experience fostering collaboration and working effectively on cross-functional teams.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interface across all levels of the organization.
  • Experience applying critical thinking and problem-solving skills to achieve results.
  • Experience with standard Project Management tools and practices.
  • Proficiency in MS Project, Excel, and SharePoint.
