About the position

The Global Programs Manager at the Wisconsin School of Business is responsible for managing a portfolio of study abroad and global engagement programs for business students. This role involves advising students, coordinating with university partners, and overseeing the application and enrollment processes for various international programs. The manager will also work on program development and improvement, ensuring quality delivery of services to students participating in global experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Advise students in 1:1 appointments, via email, and in group meetings/presentations on study abroad experience and requirements.
  • Maintain program pages for assigned programs, serving as a primary source of information for students.
  • Discuss student concerns about studying abroad, including finances, identity, accommodations, and travel documents.
  • Maintain and assist with the development, deployment, and analysis of student evaluations and assessments.
  • Manage the development, logistics, and coordination of pre-departure orientation sessions and workshops for study abroad participants.
  • Maintain communication and develop rapport with university partners and providers from assigned programs.
  • Counsel and advise study abroad participants on requesting course equivalencies and communicate directly with students regarding their final grades.
  • Work with Global Programs team members and academic departments to process course equivalency requests.
  • Communicate with students throughout their study abroad process regarding relevant academic policies and student questions.
  • Review study abroad applications for WSB global programs and manage the application process for assigned programs.
  • Oversee ongoing evaluation of the application and admission process, soliciting feedback for improvements.
  • Post grades of students participating in WSB Programs and create grade reports from foreign institution grade data.
  • Participate in Global Programs team meetings and training sessions, representing Global Programs at various events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred in a relevant field.
  • Experience studying, living, or working abroad.
  • Minimum two years of administrative experience in an international education or student services office.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience studying, living, or working in Spain and/or a Spanish-speaking location.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Demonstrated experience working independently with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Previous work with faculty and/or academic advisors.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication (oral and written) skills.
  • Experience with databases and spreadsheets.
  • Familiarity with developing and managing short-term instructor-led study abroad programs.
