About the position

The Global Purchasing Category Manager - Components at Saint-Gobain is responsible for developing and implementing purchasing strategies for components within the Life Sciences division. This role involves collaborating with internal stakeholders to identify key suppliers, manage supply risks, and ensure compliance with company programs. The manager will also oversee category management for major expenses, conduct negotiations, and support business management processes related to components.

Responsibilities

• Develop a category strategy for components including filters and connectors.
• Identify gaps between business unit needs and existing supply agreements.
• Launch bids to obtain competitive quotes for cost, quality, and lead-time.
• Negotiate supply agreements, pricing, and terms with suppliers.
• Develop supply risk mitigation strategies and identify alternative raw materials.
• Provide inputs to budget and forecasting processes related to components.
• Support management of change processes including changes in component specifications or regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with internal networks to leverage purchasing support and improve compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Operations Management.
• 5+ years of experience in Purchasing Management, preferably in Manufacturing.
• 5+ years of experience in Supply Agreement/Contract Negotiations, preferably in Manufacturing.
• Strong negotiation and project management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
