The Global Purchasing Manager at McCormick is responsible for overseeing assigned categories and developing global category strategies and programs aimed at optimizing costs, rationalizing the supply base, and delivering value to the corporation while effectively mitigating risks. This role involves coordinating and leading strategy execution activities and participating in the development of OGSM (Objectives, Goals, Strategies, Measures) and procurement planning activities. The position is hybrid, requiring a balance of in-office and remote work, and is based at the Global Headquarters in Hunt Valley, Maryland. In this role, the Global Purchasing Manager will establish and execute strategies for their categories on a global scale. They will lead supplier performance management by negotiating procured materials and services to ensure optimal Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), which includes cost, quality, delivery, and innovation. The manager will develop and implement strategies that ensure the lowest overall costs while also mitigating risks to the corporation. When applicable, they will direct the efforts of subordinates to maintain reliable sources of supply and supervise the negotiation of procured materials and services. Additionally, the manager will be responsible for managing and developing personnel, promoting efficient operations, and ensuring high levels of motivation and morale within their team. Customer satisfaction is a priority, and the Global Purchasing Manager will support the needs of divisional projects and requirements for purchasing guidance and leadership. They will engage with senior procurement personnel to ensure category alignment with regional strategies and participate in change management efforts to create alignment and integration both internally and externally. The manager will also play a role in the financial planning and forecasting process, providing relevant market information and dynamics to internal stakeholders across all global regions. Furthermore, they will provide information to Regional Procurement regarding Level I and II supply and quality issues, actively participating in teams addressing these challenges.
