About the position

The Global Sales Training Instructional Designer at Dexcom Corporation plays a pivotal role in enhancing the effectiveness of the global sales team through the development and implementation of innovative learning solutions. This position is integral to the Global Sales Training Team, which is dedicated to accelerating sales performance by enhancing the skills, knowledge, and leadership attributes of revenue teams. The Instructional Designer will be responsible for overseeing and managing learning programs that align cross-functional and global teams with the organization's strategic goals, ensuring that training initiatives deliver the desired organizational outcomes. In this role, the Instructional Designer will provide lead consultation on complex initiatives, aligning tactics and systems with the strategic objectives of the organization. They will determine and direct applicable evaluation methods and data retrieval processes that support organizational goals. The position requires collaboration with various internal and external business partners to conduct needs analyses and design customized solutions, including workshops, projects, and training materials. The Instructional Designer will leverage their expertise in instructional design tools and adult learning principles to create effective learning experiences that resonate with diverse audiences. The successful candidate will possess strong project management, time management, and problem-solving skills, enabling them to lead and manage large-scale, high-profile initiatives effectively. They will also be proficient in designing presentations for leadership audiences and storytelling with data, ensuring that training content is engaging and impactful. Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage learning programs to align cross-functional/global teams on priorities and objectives.
  • Provide lead consultation on complex initiatives to align tactics and systems with the organization's strategic goals.
  • Determine and direct applicable evaluation methods and data retrieval that align and support organizational goals.
  • Design and implement innovative internal process solutions that increase efficiencies in operational processes.
  • Collaborate with internal/external business partners on needs analyses and designing customized solutions, including workshops, projects, and materials.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 - 8 years of related experience.
  • Proficient in various instructional design tools and platforms, including learning management systems (Workday, SuccessFactors) and learning design software (Articulate 360, Adobe Creative Suite, Captivate).
  • Experienced in project management methodology and time management skills.
  • Proficient in PowerPoint design for leadership audiences and storytelling with data.
  • Proven skills in verbal/written communication, presentation skills, and facilitation skills.
