About the position

The Physical Security - Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) Specialist is a critical role within TD Bank, responsible for ensuring the safety and security of employees, visitors, vendors, and assets in compliance with the Bank Protection Act. This position involves monitoring for threats, reporting and triaging security incidents, and evaluating results to meet departmental goals. The GSOC Specialist operates under established policies and procedures, making recommendations to the supervisor on duty regarding critical incidents and security-related events. In this role, the specialist will actively monitor and identify threats, trends, and incidents that could negatively impact the security of TD Bank personnel and facilities. This includes detailed report writing and handling sensitive information with limited supervision. The specialist will also consult with various risk functions to develop and document policies and procedures for all department processes. Coordination of security guards and police details, as well as participation in physical security projects, are also key responsibilities. The GSOC Specialist will monitor access control systems, respond to alarms or breaches, and liaise with emergency services during incidents. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while supporting a team environment. The role is essential in maintaining the security and integrity of TD Bank's operations and reputation.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor for and identify threats, trends, and incidents that could negatively impact the security of TD Bank personnel, facilities, operations, and reputation.
  • Report and triage security-related incidents, ensuring all activities are performed according to established GSOC policies and procedures.
  • Conduct detailed report writing and handle sensitive and confidential information with limited supervision.
  • Consult with all risk functions in the development and documentation of policies, procedures, and controls for all department processes.
  • Coordinate security guards and paid police details as needed.
  • Actively monitor and facilitate the occurrence of security-related incidents.
  • Assess threats based on incoming data and make decisions based on findings.
  • Participate in various Physical Security projects, including technology implementation and employee identification processes.
  • Monitor access control systems and respond to alarms, breaches, or malfunctions appropriately.
  • Respond to security operations notifications and requests made by internal and external parties.
  • Liaise with emergency medical services, fire department, and law enforcement in emergencies.
  • Support onsite contract security staff and conduct open source research to develop intelligence products.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
  • Relevant work experience preferred, particularly in a Global Security Operation Center or similar environment.
  • Ability to work within a 24-hour department with a rotating schedule.
  • Shift work experience in a 24-hour operation preferred.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills; call center/phone experience preferred.
  • Strong documentation, investigative, and report writing skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office and other PC-based programs.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks with competing priorities.
  • Ability to collaborate in and support a team environment and work independently.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1+ year of experience in a Global Security Operation Center or equivalent environment highly preferred.
  • 6+ months experience working within a financial or banking environment.
  • Availability to work weekends and 2nd shift (4:00 pm - 12:30 am).
