About the position

The Global Sourcing Manager for Commercial Plumbing and Fire Protection at Ferguson Enterprises is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies for piping and valve products. This role involves leading global supply base development, supplier diversification, and performance management to optimize product costs and ensure quality compliance. The position requires collaboration with various cross-functional teams and reports to the Director of Global Sourcing.

Responsibilities

  • Lead execution of global sourcing and supplier development strategic initiatives.
  • Understand and define key product cost structure, identifying cost savings opportunities.
  • Lead supplier exploration, qualification, and onboarding.
  • Negotiate and execute contracts with suppliers.
  • Implement global product development and sourcing projects successfully.
  • Coordinate supplier diversification efforts on key categories.
  • Support Business Unit integration projects and collaborate with functional teams.
  • Establish long-term relationships with global suppliers.
  • Develop and optimize global sourcing and business operational processes.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and coordinate business reviews.
  • Execute complex multi-functional special projects.
  • Manage supplier performance and resolve related issues.
  • Ensure continuity of supply and collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams.
  • Provide inputs into the annual budget and adhere to budget guidelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher preferred, or equivalent experience considered.
  • 5+ years of sourcing and manufacturing experience in commercial plumbing and/or fire protection.
  • Strong knowledge of the international manufacturing landscape.
  • Product engineering experience with problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with industry standards and certification processes (UPC, UL, FM, NFPA, NSF, ASTM, ANSI, CRN).
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong public speaking skills and ability to deliver presentations.
  • Ability to develop relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Strong negotiation skills and customer service orientation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (MS 0365, Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, Power BI).

Nice-to-haves

  • CPSM Certification preferred.
  • Experience with various industry standards and approvals.
  • Ability to travel globally, including regions like China, SE Asia, and India (10-15%).
