About the position

The Global Strategic Operations Manager at Uber plays a pivotal role in enhancing the experience of grocery and retail merchants on the Uber platform. This position involves collaborating with various teams to design and implement analytical insights and reporting tools that streamline processes and support merchant success. The role requires a blend of analytical capabilities, technical expertise, and strong collaboration skills to drive operational excellence in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement tools and processes to provide grocery & retail merchants with best-in-class business reports and insights.
  • Build and leverage automation solutions to enhance the delivery of reporting and insights for a seamless merchant experience.
  • Drive the ongoing enhancement of Uber's reporting and insights solutions to elevate the merchant experience.
  • Conduct in-depth analyses to uncover key insights and synthesize them into actionable recommendations for leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Orchestrate and manage the work of cross-functional stakeholders including Operations, Product, Finance, and Legal to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Ensure product launches and new merchant requirements are aligned with data and supported by reporting.
  • Produce comprehensive documentation outlining report structures and technical processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business analytics, economics, engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in business operations or business analytics.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and analysis.
  • Experience using Python or R for data extraction, statistical analysis, and process automation.
  • Familiarity with data science libraries (pandas, NumPy, matplotlib, SciPy).
  • Strong critical thinking, judgment, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to solve complex business problems across multiple teams and product areas.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to execute efficiently.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in business, economics, engineering, or a related field.
  • Six Sigma certification or experience with methodologies.
  • Experience developing and managing business reporting and insights solutions.
  • Industry experience in grocery and/or retail.
  • Familiarity with Python libraries (e.g., Scikit-learn, pipenv).
  • Experience with SFTP and related Python libraries (e.g., gnupg, boto3).
