About the position

At Allegion, we are dedicated to creating peace of mind by pioneering safety and security. As an intern in our Americas SBU, you will manage assigned sourced product projects and new product development (NPD) projects. This role involves close collaboration with key stakeholders, including commodity management, product management, engineering, operations, and quality assurance, to ensure that all inputs are considered for the successful completion of projects. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain global supply management experience with a leading S&P 500 company, providing insight into how the NPD procurement team collaborates with cross-functional project teams. You will attend project meetings, visit local suppliers, and explore Allegion manufacturing sites, enhancing your understanding of the procurement process. Your responsibilities will include building and analyzing a quote warehouse to track the pricing of components and materials over time, validating supplier pricing, and uncovering cost-reduction opportunities through alternate supply channels. You will collaborate with the Data Analytics team to design a supplier strategy dashboard and partner with the Engineering team to create a design risk analysis template for purchasing new materials. As the procurement lead on projects to launch new products or design improvements, you will capture updates and optimize the global supplier database. Additionally, you will support the Commodity Management function by leading various day-to-day sourcing efforts, analyzing supplier spend, and assessing potential risks to product revenue. Conducting searches for high-risk and high-opportunity product categories and aligning data within procurement systems to ensure accuracy and relevance will also be part of your role.
