About the position

The Global Survey Pilot - King Air 300 at Woolpert, Inc. is a full-time, salaried position responsible for piloting and managing Beechcraft Super King Air (BE300) aircraft. The role focuses on collecting remotely sensed data for mapping and photogrammetric purposes, requiring extensive flight planning, coordination with air traffic control, and compliance with international regulations. The pilot will work closely with survey crews to ensure data accuracy and will participate in ongoing training and development opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Assume duties of Pilot in Command (PIC) for assigned aircraft.
  • Operate the aircraft in coordination with assigned Co-Pilot or Second in Command (SIC).
  • Conduct thorough flight planning for movements between job sites, both CONUS and OCONUS.
  • Work with outside handlers on OCONUS trips to ensure required permits and visas are obtained.
  • Comply with all rules and regulations of countries OCONUS that may be operated in or through.
  • Coordinate flight activities with air-traffic control for proper authorization and clearances.
  • Assist Flight Coordinator with contacting appropriate ATC officials for airspace flight authorizations.
  • Coordinate flight activities with survey crew to ensure GPS accuracy requirements are met.
  • Review data prior to flight to ensure accuracy, including weather and environmental conditions.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with ATC during all phases of flight.
  • Operate aircraft at prescribed altitude and airspeeds, following designated flight lines.
  • Log flight information and submit forms to Flight Coordinator or Chief Pilot.
  • Maintain required paperwork for FAA, ICAO and/or ISO compliance.
  • Keep site leader informed about crew and aircraft status.
  • Participate in onsite coordination meetings.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance Team Leader to monitor and arrange for aircraft maintenance.
  • Communicate project status updates to Flight Coordinator and project managers.
  • Maintain routine contact with the Chief Pilot, especially in extraordinary circumstances.
  • Fulfill corporate assigned goals and additional goals assigned by the Chief Pilot.
  • Perform additional duties when not flying, such as scheduling and mission planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of 5000 hours of logged flight time, including 1500 hours in BE300/350 aircraft.
  • FAA Airline Transport Pilot Multi-Engine with unrestricted BE300 type rating.
  • Recurrent BE300 training within the last year.
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
  • Current passport and ability to attain appropriate visas for OCONUS travel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree.
  • FAA Flight Instructor and/or Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic Certification(s).
