About the position

Applied Materials is seeking a Project Manager/Program Manager to join our Global Talent Acquisition Strategy and Operations team. This role is pivotal in managing and executing key objectives that align with our strategic and operational goals. The Project/Program Manager will collaborate closely with the Global Talent Acquisition team, employing a data-driven and methodical approach to ensure successful project execution. The ideal candidate will become an expert in translating both internal and external talent data into actionable insights, utilizing various communication mediums to convey these insights effectively. In this role, you will partner with senior leaders and program/change leaders to design, build, and execute innovative projects and programs. You will be responsible for driving project execution within a matrixed organization, managing communications with partners and stakeholders, and holding project teams accountable for timelines and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include managing meetings, project plans, budgets, debriefs, and post-pilot strategies, ensuring that there is regular and clear communication regarding program and project scope, timing, risks, and progress. The position requires a strong ability to thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed environment, with a focus on functional and business knowledge. You will need to possess strong storytelling skills, both written and oral, and have the capability to work with data effectively, translating it into compelling data visualizations using tools such as advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Familiarity with project management methodologies and software/tools like Smartsheets and Asana is essential. Experience in Talent Acquisition Operations or handling people analytics is a plus. This role also demands leadership skills, as you will lead workstreams for mid-size projects and programs, influencing without direct authority and applying analytical rigor to problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior leaders and program/change leaders to design, build, and execute innovative projects and programs.
  • Translate internal and external talent data into actionable insights through various communication mediums.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment against collective goals, meeting timelines and staying within budget.
  • Drive project execution within a matrixed organization by managing partner and stakeholder communications and holding project teams accountable to timelines and deliverables.
  • Manage meetings, project plans, budgets, debriefs, and post-pilot strategies.
  • Ensure regular and clear communication of program and project scope, timing, risks, and progress.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • 7 - 10 years of work experience in project management or related fields.
  • Strong storytelling, written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient in data analysis and visualization, particularly with advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies, processes, and software/tools (e.g., Smartsheets, Asana).
  • Experience in Talent Acquisition Operations and/or handling people analytics is a plus.
  • Ability to operate with a high level of autonomy and lead workstreams for mid-size projects and programs.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority and communicate effectively across functions and regions.
