About the position

The Global Tax Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a pivotal role within A&M Tax, responsible for overseeing daily operations and driving strategic initiatives to ensure sustainable growth. This position collaborates closely with the Global Tax Practice Leader and other executives to manage various internal functions, including Sales Enablement, Technology, Finance, and Risk Management. The Global COO will lead efforts to streamline operations, enhance productivity, and foster an inclusive culture while maintaining alignment with the organization's vision and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Global Tax Practice Leader in setting and driving organizational vision.
  • Act as a member of the Tax Executive Committee.
  • Work closely with Global Tax Country Leaders and the Chief of Staff to the Global Tax Practice Leader.
  • Provide internal oversight and serve as a Performance Manager for Operations leaders in Sales Enablement, Technology, and Finance.
  • Lead and partner with the EMEA COO.
  • Develop, implement, and communicate an actionable operations strategy aligned with short- and long-term goals.
  • Develop processes for efficient global expansion, understanding Tax nuances in new jurisdictions.
  • Lead company operations, project timelines, and employee productivity.
  • Streamline and optimize operations across countries and within businesses of different sizes.
  • Serve as the point of contact for global country leaders to understand their internal business functions.
  • Monitor and adjust plans as the organization changes and grows.
  • Conduct analyses to evaluate internal operational performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Assess and implement improved processes and innovative technologies.
  • Implement organizational policies and programs to drive operating capabilities and ensure performance expectations are met.
  • Build and maintain trusting relationships with key internal stakeholders.
  • Help build an inclusive culture and uphold A&M's values.

Requirements

  • 15+ years' experience as Chief Operating Officer or similar role.
  • Comprehensive understanding of internal business operations functions.
  • Expertise in strategic planning and management of daily operations.
  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative aspects of business operations.
  • Outstanding organizational, leadership, and project management capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in establishing and implementing processes and procedures in a high growth environment.
  • Ability to interface with team members in demanding situations.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in an ever-changing environment.
  • Proficient in PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Ability to travel globally as needed.
  • Bachelor's Degree; Master's preferred.
