About the position

The Global COO role at A&M Tax is a pivotal position responsible for overseeing daily operations and driving sustainable growth within the Tax practice. This role involves collaboration with various leaders globally and requires a seasoned leader with extensive experience in managing diverse business functions. The Global COO will report directly to the Global Tax Practice Leader and will play a crucial role in strategic planning, operational efficiency, and fostering an inclusive culture within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Global Tax Practice Leader in setting and driving organizational vision.
  • Act as a member of the Tax Executive Committee.
  • Work closely with Global Tax Country Leaders and the Chief of Staff to the Global Tax Practice Leader.
  • Provide internal oversight and serve as a Performance Manager for Operations leaders in Sales Enablement & Revenue Growth, Technology, and Finance.
  • Lead, provide guidance, and partner with the EMEA COO.
  • Develop, implement, and communicate an actionable operations strategy aligned with short- and long-term goals/objectives.
  • Develop processes and protocol for efficient and effective global expansion, understanding Tax nuances in new jurisdictions.
  • Report regularly on global expansion plans and status.
  • Lead company operations, project timelines, and employee productivity.
  • Serve as the point of contact for global country leaders to understand their internal business functions/business plans.
  • Communicate those plans/needs to ensure alignment with the mission and vision of the Global Tax Practice Leader.
  • Monitor plans and help adjust as the organization changes and grows.
  • Conduct analyses to evaluate internal operational performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Evaluate and improve upon administrative support functions.
  • Assess and implement improved processes and innovative technologies, particularly with the Digital Tax team.
  • Implement organizational policies and programs to drive operating capabilities and ensure performance expectations are met.
  • Communicate processes and protocols for high adoption levels and adherence.
  • Build and maintain trusting relationships with key internal stakeholders primarily within Tax and across A&M.
  • Help build an inclusive culture and uphold A&M's values.

Requirements

  • 15+ years' experience, preferably as Chief Operating Officer or similar relevant role.
  • Comprehensive understanding of various internal business operations functions.
  • Demonstrable expertise in strategic planning and management of daily operations.
  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative aspects of business operations.
  • Outstanding organizational, leadership, and project management capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong experience in decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve problems quickly and foresee potential issues.
  • Experience with establishing and implementing processes and procedures in a high growth environment.
  • Ability to interface with team members in demanding, deadline-driven situations.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in an ever-changing environment.
  • Proficient in PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Ability to travel globally, as needed.
  • Bachelor's Degree, Master's preferred.
