About the position

The Global Trade Operations Specialist 5 at United Launch Alliance (ULA) is responsible for ensuring compliance with U.S. export/import laws and regulations. This role involves maintaining ULA's Export Compliance Manual, providing guidance on compliance issues, and training personnel on regulatory requirements. The specialist will analyze complex technical documents and scenarios to ensure compliance and mitigate risks associated with foreign business interactions. This position plays a critical role in supporting ULA's mission by managing export authorities and controlling foreign access to ULA facilities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with USG export/import laws and regulations.
• Maintain ULA's Export Compliance Manual.
• Provide accurate and consistent guidance on compliance issues.
• Analyze complex technical documents and proposed export scenarios.
• Control foreign access to ULA facilities.
• Provide guidance for commercial sales activities and marketing events.
• Conduct training on regulatory compliance requirements.
• Translate complex regulatory concepts into understandable tasks.
• Enforce compliance requirements and provide clear guidance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of 8 years of related work experience.
• Extensive knowledge of US trade control laws and regulations including ITAR, EAR, and OFAC.
• Critical thinking skills to interpret and apply US export laws.
• Proficiency in jurisdictional export classifications.
• Ability to communicate regulatory requirements effectively.
• Technical understanding of launch vehicles and supporting hardware.
• Thorough understanding of ITAR recordkeeping requirements.
