About the position

The Global Vice President, Information Technology is responsible for leading the execution and updating of the IT strategy to ensure alignment with the overall enterprise business strategy. This role involves contributing to business strategy development, leveraging information and data technology to enhance business processes, and supporting competitive advantage through innovative IT solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution and updating of the IT/Digital/Data strategy and roadmap.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to executives and business unit leaders to understand business and IT needs.
  • Create synergies across the enterprise for cost-effective and innovative solutions.
  • Ensure the IT function's organizational structure and capabilities are adequate.
  • Provide strategic direction for the design, development, operation, and support of IT systems and programs.
  • Develop and control the annual operating and capital expenditure budget for IT.
  • Direct the development of IT sourcing strategy and oversee vendor and partner relationships.
  • Partner with Human Resources to develop innovative solutions for IT workforce recruitment and retention.
  • Drive the development of enterprise technology standards, governance processes, and performance metrics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Administration or related field.
  • Fifteen years of experience in IT, including ten years of technology leadership in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in IT strategic planning, organization design, and development.
  • Ability to lead IT transformational initiatives in a complex environment.
  • Ability to identify and leverage internal and external resources to enhance capabilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Administration or related field.
  • Experience in life sciences fields.
  • 5+ years' experience in a global, matrixed organization across U.S., Europe, and Asia.
