About the position

As a Glovebox Integration Engineer at Jacobs, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Microgravity and Life Sciences Glovebox (MLSG) Project, which is integral to the International Space Station (ISS) program. This position involves managing and providing sustaining engineering, payload integration engineering, and facility maintenance for both the Microgravity Science Glovebox (MSG) Facility and the Life Sciences Glovebox (LSG) Facility. Your work will directly contribute to the success of human-rated space projects and tasks, ensuring that the facilities are equipped to handle various scientific experiments in microgravity environments. In this role, you will serve as the primary interface between the MLSG Project team and the Payload Developer (PD) and Payload Integration Manager (PIM). You will be responsible for generating Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and Utilization Memos (UMs) to document payload to facility interfaces and requirements. Additionally, you will develop Materials Compatibility memos to ensure that the materials used in experiments are compatible with the facilities, thereby protecting both the equipment and the integrity of the experiments. Your responsibilities will also include reporting weekly on the payload/product integration status to the MLSG Project Office, analyzing and submitting payload verifications to the ISS Program, and coordinating with stakeholders to gather the necessary data for verification closure. You will participate in safety reviews and design reviews, ensuring that all facility resources are adequately coordinated and available for payload testing and integration. This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of space exploration, contributing to projects that have a significant impact on scientific research and human spaceflight. You will be part of a collaborative team that values diversity, inclusion, and professional growth, providing you with the support and resources needed to succeed in your career.
