The General Merchandise Expert at Target plays a crucial role in ensuring a consistent and welcoming shopping experience for guests. This position involves managing various operational tasks related to product availability, pricing, and presentation, while also providing excellent customer service. The role is dynamic, requiring team collaboration and the ability to adapt to changing business needs, all while maintaining a focus on safety and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming experience by authentically greeting all guests.
• Observe to quickly understand whether a guest needs assistance or wants to interact.
• Engage with guests in a genuine way, asking questions to better understand their specific needs.
• Be knowledgeable about the tools, products, and services available in the store to solve issues for guests.
• Ensure sales floor is zoned, in stock, and accurately signed and priced for guests.
• Acknowledge guests while completing workload with minimal disruption.
• Execute inbound, replenishment, backroom, and signing processes for GM areas.
• Follow processes accurately with attention to detail and monitor own progress.
• Support guest services such as back-up cashier and digital fulfillment processes.
• Work in a safe manner at all times and comply with all safety policies.

• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners.
